Homemade popcorn is so much better for you than shop/cinema-bought, which is full of butter, salt and sugar.
Making your own popcorn is really easy and also really fun! And you can flavour it however you like.
INGREDIENTS (makes 1 big bowl):
50g popping corn (available in most supermarkets)
1 tbsp coconut oil
2 tsp honey
1 tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
Melt the coconut oil in a heavy-based pan with a lid
Add the popping corn and shake well to coat the kernels in the oil
Keeping te lid on, heat the popping corn over a medium heat
After a minute or so the corn will start to pop. Let it pop for a couple of minutes then give the pan a good shake.
Leave the corn to pop, shaking every 30 seconds or so, until the popping stops, then remove from the heat but leave the lid on.
In a small dish, microwave the honey for 5 seconds until melted.
Lift the lid off the popcorn and shake the cinnamon and salt across it. Put the lid back on and shake the pan well.
Lift the lid off again, drizzle the honey over the popcorn, and shake well again.
Pour the popcorn into a big bowl, and enjoy while it’s still hot!
